Sue Williams
Acoustic and electric bassist Sue Williams is a versatile musician whose credits include performing with Punk Rocker Richard Hell and The Voidoids, Cab Calloway’s Swing Orchestra, Darlene Love, Steven Van Zandt, Ben E. King, South Side Jonny & the Asbury Jukes, and Broadway’s Smokey Joes Cafe, La Bamba and the Hubcaps as well as backing up Eric Clapton, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, John Popper and Vanessa Williams at the White House. Sue has been on the faculty at The National Guitar Summer Workshop, Hoff Barthelson School of Music, Concordia College and currently teaches at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey.
Sue is currently working with the brazilian jazz trio of guitarist Mark Sganga, Blues artist Dave Keyes & Jane Stuart and her jazz quartet.
Originally from northern New Jersey, Sue got her musical start in the school band followed by piano lessons and then focused on the bass after joining the high school orchestra and jazz band. After meeting the great jazz bassist Rufus Reid, she enrolled in the jazz studies program at William Paterson University, graduating in 1987.
Sue holds a Bachelor of Music degree from William Paterson University and was awarded the Milt Hinton Jazz Scholarship and a National Endowment for The Arts Grant. She has performed around the world, recently touring with JD and the Straight Shot as the opening act for Joe Walsh and has played at the White House for President Clinton.
Sue is currently working on her Master of Science in Music Technology degree at Indiana University.

Acoustic and electric bassist Sue Williams is a New York City based freelance musician who has performed with Eric Clapton, Steve Cropper, Joe Walsh, Eddie Brigati, Bernard Purdie, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Williams, John Popper, Darlene Love, Ben E. King, Robert Palmer, JD and The Straight Shot, South Side Jonny and The Asbury Jukes, Phoebe Snow, Richard Hell and The Voidoids, La Bamba and the Hubcaps, Milt Hinton Bass Quartet, Cab Calloway’s Swing Orchestra, and many others.

Regular performances include jazz trios, Broadway shows, blues and rock clubs, worship services and recording studio work. As a Broadway pit musician, Sue has played in numerous Broadway shows including Mr Saturday Night starring Billy Crystal and  Little Shop of Horrors.

Sue holds a Master of Science Music Technology degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music degree from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ  (jazz studies program) and is a Pro Tools specialist with Avid Operator certification. 

Teaching credits include: Adjunct instructor at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ (18 years), Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ and Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ specializing in music technology courses.
